Getting a flu vaccine every year helps protect you against flu infection and its complications.
Flu vaccines are recommended for everyone who is 6 months of age or older.
For the month of June, all Victorians can receive flu vaccines for free.
Special risk groups
Some people are more at risk of developing severe flu disease and its complications. These people can be vaccinated for free. This includes:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples
- babies and children < 5 years
- people with underlying medical conditions
- pregnant women
- people 65 years of age or older.
